Courtesy Pay Changes

Courtesy Pay is AltaOne Federal Credit Union's way to provide excellent member service by helping you avoid additional fees that returned draft items may cause.

Debit and ATM cards are a convenient way to make purchases and payments, but also make it easier to overdraw a checking account and incur overdraft fees. As a result, federal lawmakers have created new rules governing overdraft protection.

Take Action! Stay Protected!
You now have an option concerning whether you want to continue to have our overdraft service cover your ATM and everyday debit card transactions. This rule applies only to ATM and everyday debit card transactions. It does not pertain to overdraft protection services for written checks, recurring debit transactions or regularly scheduled bill payments. In addition, it does not affect other types of overdraft protection, such as savings and Visa® credit card transactions. Without overdraft protection, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions may be declined if you attempt to make a transaction with insufficient funds.

Regular Courtesy Pay users already received information by mail and/or telephone alerting them to the opportunity to retain their Courtesy Pay benefits. To ensure your protection, notify us on or before August 15, 2010 (July 1, 2010, for accounts opened on or after that date). If you do not notify us your ATM and everyday debit card transactions will be declined if there are insufficient funds.

For more information about the great benefits of Courtesy Pay and how to stay protected, visit us at any of our Member Service Centers, visit www.AltaOne.org or call toll-free (800) 433-9727, option 5.
