Message from the President

Dear Members,

These are challenging times for workers, families and businesses trying to do more with less. We're dealing with record high unemployment and record low consumer confidence. Amid all the uncertainty, we want Members to know that American First Credit Union is safe and sound – a safe place for your money and a sound institution for financial products and services.

American First is well capitalized with high-quality, liquid assets that are readily accessible for lending to qualified borrowers. We continue to offer competitive rates on loans without all the extra fees and fine print. Thanks to prudent management and responsible lending practices, we are in a strong financial position to continue serving the needs of our Members for years to come.

The Credit Union Difference
In this economy, it pays to be an American First Credit Union Member. As a not-for-profit credit union, American First puts the interests of Members first. We stand by the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" – and that means pooling resources to help people save and borrow right here at home.

We are committed to supporting our local economy through business and homeownership initiatives. And the fruits of this effort return to credit union Members in the form of better rates and enhanced products and services.

Better Days Ahead
There is hope for jobs and tax relief with the $787 billion economic stimulus plan signed by President Obama in February. Still, there are no quick fixes, and we are prepared to ride out the financial fallout as long as it takes.

Our top priority is managing deposits and loans responsibly to best serve our Members. You can count on us for money-saving tips and ideas for stretching your budget and saving for the future. In unpredictable financial times, American First Credit Union can be your foundation for building a more secure financial future.

Best,

Robert E. Street
