Vote for Board of Directors Candidates
There are four candidates running for three seats on the Board of Directors. If elected, these volunteers will meet regularly and make decisions to help guide the credit union. We encourage all Chaco members to participate in the election process and cast their votes. Learn more about each candidate and how to vote below.Meet the Candidates The following candidates are seeking a seat on Chaco Credit Union's Board of Directors: Robert Barrett has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1964, serving the past 29 years as Chairman. Mr. Barrett is retired from Champion International Paper Corporation where he worked for 39 years. Mr. Barrett says, "Chaco has grown and expanded its services while giving constant attention to the fact that Chaco is member-owned and remains true to the philosophy of people helping people." He has been a member of Chaco for 55 years. John Dougherty is currently serving as Secretary and Treasurer of Chaco's Board of Directors. Prior to becoming a Board Member, Mr. Dougherty served for 10 years on the Credit Union Supervisory/Audit Committee. Mr. Dougherty states, "I want to be part of the team directing the progress of Chaco Credit Union; providing service, convenience and financial responsibility for our current and future membership." He has been a member of Chaco for more than 35 years. J.K. Krupp is seeking her first term as a Chaco Credit Union Board Member. She is a Project Manager at Jacobs ENGG with more than 13 years of experience. She would like to serve as a member of the Board of Directors "so that I can make a difference and make the credit union more approachable. As a long-term member of the credit union, I can help the credit union strive toward being even more customer-friendly and continue to make a positive contribution to the community." Ms. Krupp has special expertise and interest in finance and investments. She has been a Chaco member for more than 13 years. Scott Martin is currently serving his second term on the Chaco Board of Directors. Mr. Martin has been a practicing attorney for nine years and has spent much time representing banks and other financial institutions. He also has experience in corporate and credit union law. Mr. Martin states, "I am a true believer in credit unions, and have personally experienced the difference in service between a credit union and a large bank. I believe it is very important to focus on our members." He has been a member of Chaco for more than 15 years. Make Your Vote Count You'll find a ballot including candidate profiles and a return envelope in your December 2009 statement. Please fill out the ballot and have it postmarked by Feb. 16, 2010. The ballots will be tallied and newly elected Board members will be announced at the annual meeting. Please join us for the credit union's annual meeting on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 4:30 p.m. This meeting will be a business-only meeting held at the Downtown Hamilton Office located on 100 South Third Street.
