Your online banking accounts with Chaco Credit Union will be safer than ever when we implement the multifactor authentication process called CHACO DIRECT IDENTITY PLUS. Multifactor authentication will involve an extra step when logging on to our online banking system, but this extra layer of protection against identity theft is well worth it.

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council recently issued guidelines for improving online authentication systems. As a result, innovative solutions are now available to verify the identity of online banking users.

What Is Different?
When you sign on to your online accounts, your username and password together are one "factor" in making sure you are the person authorized to access the account. With multifactor authentication, there is an additional "factor" needed to log on, so you enjoy increased protection from identity theft.

At Chaco Credit Union, we are happy to announce that the CHACO DIRECT IDENTITY PLUS conversion will take place soon. We will implement a rotating series of questions, so you are asked a question that you've already given us the answer to every time you log on. This will add the extra layer of security needed to enhance your safety.
