See What's New at John Wesley United Methodist Church
If you've ever driven along Kemper Road, you've likely come across a familiar landmark, resting between Mill Road and Hamilton Avenue.
John Wesley United Methodist Church has been an institution in the community for the past 35 years. The church's mission is to serve God and reach out to the individual, the community and the world.
The church offers both traditional and contemporary services on Sunday mornings. Traditional services are at 9 and 10:15 a.m., with contemporary services following at 11:30 a.m.
Along with church services, John Wesley hosts a variety of activities and events. You can take part in the Vacation Bible School on June 25-29, or sign up for the Upward Basketball camp, which runs from July 23-27. And on July 28, bring the whole family down to the Family Carnival and Pig Roast. When the school year rolls around, enroll your preschooler in the church's half-day pre-school sessions for children ages 3 through Pre-K. Classes start in September and end in May.
The church's recent addition gives you even more things to do. With financing from Chaco Credit Union, they were able to construct a beautiful, new building to better serve the community. Within the first two months of opening, the church offered the Upward Basketball program, Friday night basketball for adults and teens and a family gym on Sunday afternoons. The church is filling the new classroom space with more programs and can provide more seating for the Wednesday night fellowship dinners. Be on the lookout for more community activities in the future. They've only just begun to tap into all the possibilities for this new building.
