Build a Child's Future

It's important to start your child off on the right financial path early in life. DCU offers programs for children and young adults to help you do just that.

Looney Tunes Kids' Club
DCU's Looney Tunes Kids' Club is a program for children 12 and under. It includes a quarterly newsletter that features games and educational fun. Kids' Club members learn about savings accounts, the importance of saving, and what a credit union is. Your child must be a DCU member to participate in the club.

CashPak
DCU's CashPak prepares your 17 to 22-year-old for managing finances at school, work, or home. CashPak gives young adults convenient access to their funds and teaches them how to use the financial products they'll need as adults. CashPak helps young adults establish credit, become more independent, and save money.

CashPak includes:
  • Free Checking
  • Free DCU Visa® Check Card
  • Unlimited free ATM transactions everywhere – no charges at any DCU ATM and up to $5 reimbursement per month in non-DCU ATM surcharges
  • 24-hour account access
  • Visa Credit Card (optional)
  • Bonus Certificate Account rates
  • Free unlimited American Express® Travelers Cheques
Other Services for Young Adults, Students, and Children
Special Savings Account rate – Members under 19 get a special higher dividend rate to help them get into the saving habit.

Quick Start Certificates – Members under 23 can get our Regular Certificate dividend rates with a much lower minimum balance – $100 instead of $500. Certificate Accounts carry our highest dividend rates.

Googolplex – This online magazine has a variety of activities, articles, and information broken out by grade level in school. Go to the site index at dcu.org and select the Googolplex link.

Show Me This web site and quarterly newsletter was developed with the help of young people, and it uses their lingo. On the Show Me site, young people help do the teaching. They speak "with" your kids, not "at" them, and share their own personal experiences, good and bad, when it comes to the world of money. The Show Me newsletter is sent to all DCU members ages 12 to 17 and provides education on finances and teen topics. To visit the Show Me site, select StreetWise and then Show Me on the left-hand menu.

For more information on any of these products and services or to open an account, visit dcu.org and choose For Young Members, email us at dcu@dcu.org, call us, or stop by any branch.
