DCU Private Student Loans Now Available
The subprime mortgage crisis is now affecting the college loan
industry –
there are cutbacks on federal loans and college
financing is harder to find. The good news? DCU has loans
available to fill the funding gaps that federal aid can leave behind.
DCU now offers Credit Union Student Choice loans. If you have
exhausted federal student aid (such as Stafford Loans), the Credit
Union Student Choice loan may be right for you.
Benefits include:
- Zero origination fees
- Lower interest rates
- Deferment of principal AND interest while
in school
- Flexible repayment terms for lower initial payments after graduation
- A loan granted and held by DCU –
a lender relationship you can trust
Students enrolled at least half-time in a degree-granting program
with a qualified co-signer are eligible for a Student Choice loan.
Once approved, students can borrow from $1,000 up to $30,000
per year based on the cost of attendance (less any other aid
received). The total amount that can be borrowed throughout a
college career is $75,000. Disbursements are sent directly to the
school once school certification is received.
