Test Your ID Theft IQ

You might think identity theft can't happen to you, but it's easier than you think to make mistakes that could potentially open the door to identity thieves. Answer the following questions to test your identity theft IQ, then total your score.

  1. My Social Security number can be found in my wallet, on my driver's license or on personal checks.

  2. I provide my Social Security number when asked, without inquiring why it is necessary or how the information will be protected.

  3. I use a cross-cut shredder to destroy all pre-approved credit offers, convenience checks, balance transfer checks, and mail that includes personal information.
