Justice FCU's Board of Directors consists of nine credit union members who serve as volunteers and are elected by the membership. There are three positions available.

The three-year term of three directors will expire in May 2010. Justice FCU's Nominating Committee has nominated the candidates listed below to fill the three Board positions. The candidates are listed in alphabetical order.

Individuals not nominated by the Nominating Committee who would like to serve on the Board of Directors can be placed on the ballot by obtaining the signatures, printed names, and account numbers of 1% of the credit union's members. As of Dec. 31, 2006, 430 names and signatures would be required. Members interested in running for the board must return their petitions by 4:30 PM on March 1, 2007, to the Nominating Committee, 5175 Parkstone Drive, Suite 200, Chantilly, VA 20151. Voting instructions will be included in the upcoming spring newsletter. The results of the election will be announced at the annual meeting on May 24, 2007. No voting will be done at the annual meeting.

James H. Falk, Great Falls, VA
Mr. Falk has practiced law for the last 20 years where he specializes in a broad range of litigation and transactional matters, the development and management of corporate entities, the negotiation and arbitration of matters involving commercial disputes, labor and employment disputes and the handling of sports and entertainment matters. He represents firms and individuals throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He serves as a Professor of Law at George Washington University, as a member of various community and business boards and as a state membership chair for the US Supreme Court Historical Society.

John Greaney, (incumbent) Silver Spring, MD
Mr. Greaney has served on the Justice FCU's Board of Directors since 1990. During this time, he has served six years as chairman and six years as secretary. He currently serves on the Credit Union's Asset/Liability Management Committee. A Justice Department attorney for 30 years, Mr. Greaney has participated in a variety of antitrust investigations and cases. He has master's degrees in accounting and law from Georgetown University. Mr. Greaney is a Certified Public Accountant, who has taught law and accounting courses at Georgetown University and Catholic University.

Gregory P. Polonica, (incumbent) Fairfax Station, VA
Mr. Polonica has been a member of the Justice FCU Board of Directors since August 2000. He has been the Board Chairman since May 2005, and was the Treasurer from May 2001 until he was elected Chairman. He was a member of the Justice FCU Supervisory Committee from 1990 until August 2000. Mr. Polonica has been a Senior Financial Analyst with the Corporate Finance Unit in the Antitrust Division of DOJ since 1988, where he assists attorneys in cases with complex financial and accounting issues. He holds an M.B.A. degree from Boston University and he is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner professional.

 

"My extensive government experience with employee integrity issues, physical security measures, information security practices and continuity of operations planning provides a unique and vital mix of skills to the Board and to the membership."

 

D. Jerry Rubino, CPP, (incumbent) Burke, VA
Mr. Rubino has served on the Justice FCU Board for the last 6 years. Prior to that, he served on the Justice FCU Supervisory Committee. He was the Director of the Security and Emergency Planning Staff for the Department of Justice until September 30, 2003, when he retired after 46 years of government service, 17 years with the CIA and 29 with the DOJ. He earned a bachelor of arts degree (with distinction) and a master of science in administration, both from the George Washington University. Mr. Rubino was a 22-year veteran of the Department of Justice's Senior Executive Service and received the President's Meritorious Executive Award in 2002. He is currently the Senior Advisor for Security at Creative Associates International Inc.
