first-year student scholarship Sean Gordon will head into his freshman year at the Oberlin Conservatory in Oberlin, Ohio, with a $1,000 scholarship! This year, the required 1,000-word essay was titled, "What steps should young adults take now to create a strong financial future?" returning student scholarship Hannah Howard was the recipient of this year's Returning Student Scholarship. She will attend Montgomery College in Maryland this fall. This year's applicants were asked to write a 1,000-word essay based on the questions "Name two major financial decisions that you anticipate making after graduation. What resources will you use and steps will you take to come to your decisions?" The competitions drew applications from many highly qualified and talented candidates. The winners were chosen based on the essay content and the writers' ability to express the concepts. All of us at MAFCU wish Sean and Hannah the best of luck at their colleges this academic year! |
