Important Changes to Overdraft Privilege Pay
Federal lawmakers have created new rules governing Overdraft Privilege Pay services that go into effect July 1, 2010. You now have an option as to whether you want Mid-Atlantic FCU's Overdraft Privilege Pay service to cover your ATM and everyday debit card transactions. This opt-in rule only applies to ATM and everyday debit card transactions and does not affect overdraft protection services covering written checks or recurring debit transactions such as bill pay.why should you opt-in? Mid-Atlantic FCU's Overdraft Privilege Pay service is designed with your protection and convenience in mind. Sometimes life doesn't always go according to plan and overdrafts occur. Without overdraft protection, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions may be declined if you attempt to make a transaction without sufficient funds. If you currently have a Mid-Atlantic FCU checking account, and you do not opt-in prior to August 15, 2010, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions will NOT be protected by Mid-Atlantic FCU's Overdraft Privilege Pay. If you open a new Mid-Atlantic FCU checking account on or after July 1, 2010, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions will not be protected under Mid-Atlantic FCU's Overdraft Privilege Pay service unless you opt-in. how do i opt-in? You can stop by a branch, visit mafcu.org or call 301-944-1800 to opt-in today! |
